The doctor Ms Maria Marzia Duse, who is President of the Scientific Department of the European University in Rome specialized in Immunology, underlines the fact that nowadays infectious diseases such as the sexually transmitted diseases have been controlled and monitored from doctors with good results, and she argues that the most effective method for preventing these diseases is vaccination. If there are not any vaccines, it is necessary to limit the possibilities of infection; nowadays this warning may not be considered because of the reassuring new medical treatments. The progress has caused a lack in social attention towards to the risks of infection and other problems linked to the fact of feeling excluded or persecuted. In the last few years especially in big cities we can notice an increase in these cases. Consequently it is necessary to increase the knowledge about illnesses and symptoms that may be present, about treatments as well as addictions that may be the consequence of illnesses. This list of good suggestions must be applied in adolescents because at that age adolescents feel the need to be part of the group, they want to imitate the attitude of the peers, to gain a sense of shared complicity so that they can avoid the uneasiness of being alone and excluded from the group. Ms Duse leaves a message, that is to stimulate reflection on educational and health values of sports.
This research focuses on the dangers that adolescents and preadolescents can face if they do not care about everyday disillusions, disappointment and isolation. This situation could be solved within the family, if the parents and educators were precisely informed. On the contrary people might become psychologically alcohol and drug addicted and develop a sort of distorted reality that may make them be isolated from the group of peers with the need to defeat the group and not to join it. A part from the first theorical part about prevention and vaccinations against a lot of infectious diseases, such as the papillomavirus or HIV disease, the second part deals with therapies to be carried out against permanent illnesses, such as asthma, diabetes and rheuma pains. The last part focuses on the relationship between adolescents and drugs, such as heroine, cocaine, Hashish and marijuana that can be responsible for permanent illnesses in the people who use them. These addiction must be reduced because the effects of drugs on human body will get worse and worse in adults and will not disappear. The goal of this research is to inform parents and adults about these issues because sometimes the invention of new treatments and therapies may raise an inaccurate hope.
