By working up the results of numerous quantitative and qualitative studies of the recent years the reader gets a good overview about the issue of violence in schools. Besides the analysis of various phenomena of violence, its causes and a victim-offender typology, as well as gender issues this book provides the different perceptions of violence from the perspective of students and teachers. Some posts are also dealing with the highly controversial issue of violent actions of teachers.
Furthermore, preventive and interventional measures are explained and evaluated.

Based on a well-funded analysis of past research ones get a deep insight into the research topic. It is noteworthy that this book also considers articles on teacher violence.
