DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

This research was aimed to analyse the differences in family relationships (parental support, family communication and parental violence) among adolescents rejected by their peers who are involved in violent behavior at school (aggressive rejected) adolescents rejected who do not participate in violent behavior at school ( non-aggressive) and adolescents non-rejected and non-aggressive (control group).

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS ON THE DOCUMENT:

This study highlights for trying to find out the relationship that may exist between the type of family communication and aggressive behavior in school among adolescents. Used different instruments in a sample of 843 adolescents aged 11 to 16 years (mean age 13.7) of four schools in the Valencian Community. The results showed that the aggressive rejected group reported lower parental support, greater use of verbal and physical violence between
their parents. And non-aggressive rejected children perceived less support from their parents, compared to control group. The results highlight the role of family relationships in the adolescent's social interaction with their peer group.
