DESCRIPTION
OF THE ORGANISATION
Kaunas University of Technology is the largest technical university in the Baltic States. Being one of the most dynamic schools of higher education in Lithuania, KTU often becomes a research and study leader in various fields. KTU is situated in Kaunas, the second largest city of Lithuania, which is a significant centre of industry, transport, science and culture. The University successfully implements European education programmes and closely collaborates with Lithuanian and foreign industry. University scientists carry out 70 per cent of country’s higher education researches for business. Currently, Kaunas University of Technology is successfully moving forward to become the university of science and innovations, which would provide effective cooperation among the studies, science and business.

High qualification specialists, professor, PhD students, the team who could carry out high level tasks while maintaining and developing different National and International projects.

KTU scientists took and take part in various national and international (before Socrates, now Lifelong Learning, Framework, UNESCO, Structural funds of European Union and other) programmes and projects. International research cooperation and activities are mainly related to participation in European Community. KTU was and is coordinator of numbers of Lifelong Learning Programme's and other programmes projects, also participates as partner. KTU scientists actively participate in different national and international conferences while producing publications and making presentations. Also there are many methodical material, monographs; studies produced which are used in national and international levels.

Group which is involved in “I am not scared” project actively participate din other projects Analysis, Management, Creation, Website development phases. Especially during last 2 years lasted LLP Comenius and Grundtvig projects. Grundtvig project was coordinated by KTU (coordinator Vida Drąsutė).
CONTACT PERSON’S EXPERIENCE Vida Drąsutė is PhD student in Kaunas University of Technology (in the fieldo f Informatics Engineering) and also works in major coordinator‘s position in Multimedia Engineering Department in the Faculty of Informatics. Vida is experienced in formal and non-formal education improvement and development analysis of e. learning possibilities, e. learning and tools for e. learning encouragement in educational institutions, organization of courses, e. learning infrastructure development cases, implementing the tasks for fostering e. learning processes within virtual environments. Vida is a Board member in Lithuanian Distance and eLearning Association. Also is experienced in project coordination (Coordinator of LLP Grundtvig Tech-Connected Teacher project), management and research, analysis work, was and is involved in national and international projects funded by the European Commission or Ministry of Study and Science. Has strong relationships with various educational institutions in Lithuania because from 2006 was a coordinator of Lithuanian Distance Education Network which united more than 60 institutions in Lithuania. Participates in many conferences as speaker and takes part in different courses for qualification improvement, also is responsible for projects’ and events’ dissemination, public relations.

Dr. Sigitas Drąsutis. Lecturer at the Department of Multimedia Engineering in a Faculty of Informatics at Kaunas University of Technology. He is also specialized at analysis, specification and development of different information systems, databases, platforms and has Doctor Degree in computer science. His work is also concerned with different national ad international projects related with e. and distance learning, Internet based multimedia websites for the learning material presentation, video material creation for educational purposes, testing systems and other specific systems which requires high level of knowledge and practice.

Prof. Aleksandras Targamadzė since 1998 till 2006 was Chairman of Socrates Minerva and Grundtvig Programme Committee, is a Member of Qualification Committee For Computer Science Area in KTU and working in various types of research teams, is an expert in Science Council of Lithuania, Since 1999 - 2006 Expert of EU Socrates programme Adult Education, scientific Advisor of National Program Information Technologies for Science and Higher Education (2001-2006), 2007-2009 Coordinator of the national programme “Lithuanian Virtual University” (2007-2012), from 2001 the dean of the Faculty of Informatics in KTU, Head of Information Technology development Centre, also is involved as project partner or manager in many projects also manages Structural Fund Programmes projects which have big impact in national and international level.

Rūta Kukučionytė works as administrator of the projects also is a Master student in Kaunas University of Technology. Has experience in collaboration with schools, also has experience in products made of technologies creation, analysis process; projects’ and events’ dissemination.

Neringa Valytė is experienced in administrating information systems, European (Structural Funds) and National projects administration, producing the reports, public relationship, organization of different courses, seminars, collaboration with educational institutions; is responsible for collaboration and communication with different organizations, projects’ and events’ dissemination, valorization, exploitation.
