DESCRIPTION OF THE GOOD PRACTICE:

In the conflict training by Gordon communication skills for establishing constructive relationships shall be imparted. The goal is to find compromises that are acceptable to both sides involved in the conflict. Such a method of conflict resolution is to "defeat-free" method, based on mutual respect, communication in both directions and is based on a mutually acceptable solution. The communication between the parties should also be marked by a "language of acceptance" by the signalizing others that you accept them as they are. The project provides opportunities to work on one’s own attitudes and skills for non-violent conflict resolution.

The following six steps are recommended in the application of the "defeat-free" method (Gordon, 1992):
1. Define and identify conflicts
2. Find possible alternative solutions
3. Critical evaluation of alternative solutions
4. Select the best alternative solution
5. Prepare the implementation of the solution
6. Check solution

I and YOU-messages play a central role. There is no blame, but there are emotions and feelings expressed in the I-form. Role-plays, group discussions and reflections support this move. The students are active and participate actively and exchange experiences. This knowledge transfer happens through short presentations and structured written tasks. Homework should encourage the implementation of the theory to everyday situations. Teachers, parents and students train more active listening as the basis for a peaceful gathering.
