DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine, Child Psychiatry and Social Pediatrics Center Assoc. Dainius Puras interview Republic stated that the senseless deaths is most of inability to live in harmony with the self-effect, and the roots of this epidemic - childhood and our approach to the protection of it.
According to D. Puro, children's mental health is even poorer cinderella, than that so far, although it does not need costly medical miracles. It should be a serious investment in preventive and clinical programs with the core - to pay highly skilled teams of professionals for the complex mental processes, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation work. But in the meantime we are told to hope for the support of international organizations (EU, WHO, the Norwegian fund) , like the Lithuanian state itself, with the increasing number of budget options, are not taking care of children's mental health.
It is true that previous plans to continue to invest in the mental health of European Union structural assistance in 2007-2013, but these plans, as has become customary for the soluble part of the children. In addition, the structural support for the "solid investment" that mental health is crucial.
If Lithuania is supported and implemented through a coherent program of prevention, the number of suicides could have been significantly reduced. I have not heard that in 2007 The draft budget for the health sector to invest in modern methods of suicide prevention. While the economy there and the health sector budget is increasing, self-destructive behavior and the other to stop the epidemic, however, no funds can be found. I am an optimist and I believe that such an absurd situation can’t last for long. But it is very painful for every year spent.
