REVIEWER’S COMMENTS ON THE DOCUMENT:

This film is inspired by real girls from Lithuania Danguolė Rasalaitės history. Danguolė was born in Telšiai, grew up in Kaunas. Lilja began to prostitute in a nightclub to earn money, met a young man, Andrei, who seduced her and invited to move with him to Sweden with a promise of a job and lodging. And she secretly immigrated to Sweden with someone else’s passport. Sixteen years old Danguolė Rasalaitė had not imagined that her fate would be of concern to anyone, because due to dissolute lifestyle the girl was rejected by her relatives, teachers and by her friends.
"This life - the only thing that you have. A human can be dead a whole eternity, but alive - just for a brief moment"- as one of movie's characters said to Lily. The girl is only 16 years old, it is quite a difficult life period. As she wants to be somewhere away from home, she prepares to go to America. But her mother, who gets acquainted with some American guy, refuses to take her daughter with her.
Real Life of Danguolė ended in January 2000, when she fell from a viaduct in Malmo. Although virtual life of this teenager still continues – in August of 2002, in movie theatres of Sweden premiered a movie about the fate of Danguolė. The movie was created by the famous Swedish director Lukas Mudisono and was titled "Lilja 4-Ever."
