The project "The museum of school violence" conducted by the Ratiu Foundation Romania in the context of Social Engagement through Art is intended to be both an awareness campaign, of an actual and frequent problem in Romania, and also an educational campaign specific for young people, ages 15 to 19 years.
Following the recent sociological studies conducted in the Romanian educational environment, a significant increase in school violence among youth was observed. The issue has received intense media coverage that appealed to specialized institutions and civil society components to seize and take measures to combat the phenomenon.
Reducing violence in schools will lead to rising standards of Romanian education, a process that would systematically contribute to the integration of Romania into the civilized European Union.
Intensity children (20 h or more).
The project is carried out in three sections: open space discussions, artistic workshops and exhibition-plant.
During the artistic workshops, under the guidance of trainers, pupils were positioned to the theme of school violence. The method used is one of free choice, everyone can express how he/she feels through photography, video, drawing, painting, modeling and mix-media collage.
The positions undertaken by the pupils during the activities will surely encourage further discussions that are needed in order to combat this phenomenon. pages
