This unit is a selection of texts made on the basis of two reference documents: Study on violence in schools and Guide on preventing and combating violence in schools, conducted by the Institute of Education with support from UNICEF in Romania.
What forms of violence we encounter in schools, which are the leading causes of school violence, why some children take violent methods in their relations with colleagues, friends, teachers, parents, why some teachers establish power relations expressed through violence against students, are just some of the questions that we must find answers in order to ensure a positive climate in schools and to take control of interpersonal violence.
Awareness of school violence should naturally lead to increased efforts to improve the current situation. In this respect, our country must be involved in preventing and combating violence in general in schools, in particular, and to have a national awareness of school violence.
Just the things this unit calls for are covered in it. From this perspective, this material is of high importance.
