Whatever happens in the schools visited in the stories “is ok”. A disabled girl is tortured by classmates and finds support in a foreign mate who is aware of the uneasiness of feeling different. A girl can be sexually abused or raped by some of her mates during the lesson with the teacher in class without causing an immediate and meaningful reaction at school. A 12-year-old boy attending one of the best schools for cultural and social family background tries to commit suicide because he is constantly victim of mockery acted out by the mates… these are some of the topics that can be found in the book “Everything is ok”, a collection of 8 stories set at school that can make us aware of the feelings and thoughts of common teenagers who are involved in uncommon situations where they need to dominate weak people in order to feel strong and accepted.
The author of this book has been dealing with school bullying for some time. The stories are likely tales, invented but with the influence of the own experience on the field. If you want to know more about the phenomenon a quick reading is recommended.
