DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

The regional school office in Lombardy led an informative survey about bullying, and identified a series of good practices carried out in schools located in Lombardy. First of all the focus of the attention is the role of teachers as educators which is often undervalued by media during periods of crisis. The teachers’ training is necessary, both cultural and pedagogical, as it is necessary to underline the effect of professional motivation as a key point to attract new teachers. The second part is dedicated to a description of the uneasiness in young children that are often aggressive and disobey the orders. The school institution should carry out a series of intervention strategies that should involve all operators, from school technicians to teachers, according to a sharing project that focuses on the school wellbeing. The last part of the document collects a range of worksheets about the good practices which have been already carried out in some schools with a related analysis of the results.

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS ON THE DOCUMENT:

The report is a short summary of the work carried out by the Regional Observatory in Lombardy about bullying in 2009. There is the analysis of the phenomenon starting from the school uneasiness of teachers and students attending primary schools. There are also worksheets about the good practices for the prevention of the bullying phenomenon.
