For the last three decades the phenomenon of peer vioelence have been observing and researching in different countries both in Europe and Spain. One of the most important conclusions of these studies has been the lack of agreement in the scientific community about the Spanish term that relates to this social phenomenon. However, this problem did not present in other cultures such as the Anglo-Saxon. At this respect, was developed a transcultural study with the aim of collecting the terms that children use to refer to such situations and factors that influence the use of one or another.
This article should be noted for attempting to research the words that children use to refer to situations involving peer violence in schools. A sample of 80 children from schools in Seville, applying a methodology designed to examine in detail the relationship between typical situations of peer violence and the words that children use to describe them. In this way, attempted to define the concepts that students use to interpret situations of peer violence in schools.
