DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS:

Spanish schools have developed a very traditional academic education, excluding the social and emotional aspects of human development. The SAVE (Seville anti-bullying intervention in Spain) has the aims to involve educational community with the problem of school violence, and to include the prevention in educational objetives.

REVIEWER’S COMMENTS ON THE DOCUMENT:

This chapter is relevant by showing the results of the implementation of an anti-bullying program intervening on primary and secondary schools in Seville. The components of the intervention programme were: democratic management of interpersonal relationships, co-operative group work, education of feelings, attitudes, and values, and direct intervention with students at risk or involved in bullying. Certainly, the problem has not disappeared, but the objetive of reducing bullying was achieved as the data obtained.
