DESCRIPTION OF THE GOOD PRACTICE:

This theatrical activity describes the connection between two old friends that are about to destroying themselves because one of them is involved by the superficiality and negativeness of the other mates and abuses his friend. The script and the performance are carried out by students that play the role of the victim and of the young tough with its gang. The music is the one listened to from the young, while the conversations is the result of a questionnaire created by teachers and experts of the local health association in Milan and filled in by students during the school year in order to find out the contradictions in the several characters. The shyest students are also involved because they are eager to exchange ideas on the problem.

RESULTS:

The main characters and the audience were involved positively and their reaction was focused on a work on the main words about bullying which came up thanks to practice. Such activity was very positive because it can easily be included in every school programme or curricula on the understanding and on the lexical approach about bullying. A database was created where explanations about words that students usually know theoretically are clearly explained. The range of words are classified into three categories: Feeling, idea and action (ex. to spy on (action); scapegoat (idea); prejudice (feeling); etc. .). In the last years 86 primary and secondary schools and 1500 teachers have been involved.

INDICATORS:

Detection protocol, Intervention protocol, Classroom management, Whole-school anti-bullying policy, Cooperative group work, Videos, Peer support, Intensity children (20 h or more).
